Lextran to expand discount program for Veterans

Lexington, Kentucky – Lextran will extend their discount program for all Veterans starting tomorrow, Friday November 11th, which coincides with Veterans Day. The previous fare structure allowed for any veteran with a disability to ride for half fare. Under the expanded program, all Veterans will be eligible for half-fare regardless of disability status.

Any interested Veteran must bring verification of Veterans status to the Customer Service window located at the Lextran Transit Center (150 E. Vine St.) to receive a Lextran-issued ID card for $5. Valid forms of Veteran verification include a photo ID issued by the Department of Defense or Veterans Administration, a driver’s license signifying veteran status, or a DD-214 form. The Lextran-issued ID card is required on any Lextran route to receive the discounted fare.

Veterans may continue to use the Service- or Non-Service Connected ID cards issued by the Veterans Administration to receive discounted fare.

Lextran Customer Service is open 6am-6pm Monday-Friday and 8am-4pm Saturday and Sunday.
