Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities - Section 5310
The 49 U.S.C. 5310 program provides formula funding to states for the purpose of assisting private nonprofit groups in meeting the transportation needs of older adults and persons with disabilities when there is additional need beyond what is being provided by the available transportation services. As a designated recipient, Lextran is responsible for developing a 5310 Program Management Plan, Coordinated Plan and administering a Call for Projects for the available funding.
The Program Management Plan (PMP) describes the policies and procedures Lextran will follow in administering the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Section 5310 funds.
The Coordinated Plan is a comprehensive document that identifies and prioritizes strategies for enhancing mobility for seniors, individuals with disabilities, and other populations who may benefit from the programs and projects outlined. Providing adequate transportation to the targeted populations promotes equity in mobility and opportunity. The Coordinated Plan also aims to foster cooperation among agencies and organizations in order to efficiently manage resources.
The Call for Projects funding application includes information on funding availability, project eligibility, the application timeline, the application process and the project evaluation criteria.
Interested applicants should review the Lextran 5310 Program Management Plan, Call for Projects and Coordinated Plan to determine if they are eligible.
Email or telephone inquiries should be made to email@example.com or (859) 244-2015. All applications must be submitted in accordance with requirements set forth and must be received by Lextran no later than Friday, January 18, 2019.
Lextran will be holding a pre-application submission conference at 1:30 PM on Friday, 12-14-2018 at the Lextran Headquarters located at 200 West Loudon Avenue in Lexington, KY 40508.
